I was born and raised in South Dakota. I have worked as an attorney in Sioux Falls for over 30 years and I and my family live near Renner. My wife, Mary, and I have been married for 37 years and have raised 8 children and we have 9 grandchildren.
I was raised on a farm near Madison. During high school and college I worked a variety of jobs including farming, construction, manufacturing, service stations, grain processing, bus driving, and house painting. Before law school I worked in the mental health field and while in law school I worked in various capacities in law.
During my career in law I have enjoyed meeting and working with people from every walk of life. I have served as a chairman for the Minnehaha County Board of Mental Illness for more than 20 years. At the request of the presiding judge I handled drug and alcohol issues for families in crisis for several years. And I have successfully represented individuals and businesses in state and federal court including several successful appearances before the South Dakota Supreme Court and the Eighth Circuit Court of Appeals in the Federal Courts.
Helping people evaluate and solve their problems has been my career. I hope to do that for the people of District 10.
